Artesyn Astec

AstecAstec Semiconductor is the semiconductor division of Emerson Electric Company. It develops semiconductor products optimized as per customer requirements for power supply, lighting ballasts and temperature control applications. Its products include a family of shunt regulators or voltage references, micropower reference, current mode PWM controllers, over-temperature monitors, bipolar semicustom arrays and a control chipsets for offline power supplies.

Astec made switchmode power supplies in huge quantities, in early 1980 the company established a semiconductor design division to support in house analog chips demand, fabrication was outsourced. Astec became subsidiary of Emerson Network Power after 2000, later on changed her name to Artesyn Embedded Technologies and recently became part of Advanced Energy.
