O2Micro International Limited sells its products through direct sales force, independent sales representatives, and distributors to OEMs, ODMs, and module makers in Asia, Europe, and North America. It also licenses its proprietary intellectual property to third parties; and provides design and engineering support services. The company was founded in 1995 and is based in George Town, the Cayman Islands.

O2Micro International (OIIM) announced in late September that it would be acquired by FNOF Precious Honour in a deal with $145.9M equity value. March 2023 - O2Micro International Limited (NASDAQ Global Select Market: OIIM) (“O2Micro” or the “Company”), a global leader in the design, development and marketing of high-performance integrated circuits and solutions, today announced the completion of the merger (the “Merger”) with Rim Peak Technology Limited (“Merger Sub”), a wholly owned subsidiary of FNOF Precious Honour Limited (“Parent”), pursuant to the previously announced Agreement and Plan of Merger (the “Merger Agreement”), dated as of September 30, 2022, among the Company, Parent and Merger Sub. As a result of the Merger, the Company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Parent and will cease to be a publicly traded company. O2Micro International Limited, together with its subsidiaries, designs, develops, and markets integrated circuits and solutions for power management components and systems in China, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea, the Philippines, Japan, the United States, and internationally.
