In 2004 Belden company merged with Cable Design Technologies (CDT) forming Belden CDT Inc. (now Belden Inc.) and since then the company has been headquartered in St. Louis.

Barcel Wire & Cable was acquired by Cable Design Technologies on September 10, 1997. Founded in 1972, Barcel manufactures high-performance wire and cable for the aerospace industry. The company has 110 employees in Irvine and 20 at its Santa Fe Textiles subsidiary in Santa Ana, which makes specialty braided products for the aerospace, electronics and medical industries. Banner is a manufacturer of aerospace products, mechanical components, engineered materials and water treatment equipment.
