Multi-Contact (MC)
Multi-Contact's products include industrial connectors, connectors for automatic systems, medical industry connectors, connectors for renewable energy and connectors for test and measurement. The Multi-Contact is a manufacturer of plug connectors based in Allschwil, Switzerland. The company was founded in 1962 by an electrical engineer called Rudolf Neidecker. Multi-Contact's products are used in power generation and distribution, signal and data processing, medical and monitoring instruments. MC connectors are found in supercomputers, robotic docking systems, high speed trains, photovoltaic systems and many other applications. Starting at the end of the 1970s, they established subsidiaries in several European states like France, Italy, Belgium, Great Britain or Germany and later also in the United States and Asia.
MC stands for the manufacturer Multi-Contact (now Staubli). From design to manufacturing, Multi-Contact connectors are produced to satisfy the highest industry standards. All Multi-Contact's manufacturing facilities areISO 9001 certified. Multi-Contact's state-of-the-art connector technology offers both standard and custom designed solutions for a wide and diverse spectrum of applications. Multi-Contact's products range from miniature PCB connectors to large power connectors.
In 1962, the electrical engineer Rudolf Neidecker founded the company Multi-Contact in Allschwil, Switzerland. He specialised in his passion: contact technology and electrical plug-in contacts. At the end of the 1970s, he expands abroad with Multi-Contact. Multi-Contact has been a leading international manufacturer of electrical contacts and connection systems for 55 years. In 2002, the successful company was taken over by the Staubli Group. Even today, many of the group's products still bear the brand name MC or Multi-Contact. Staubli is the market leader in connection technology and has more than 20 years of experience with solar systems. Connection technology for the solar industry is only a sub-segment of the products. Since 2017, the internationally active Swiss connector manufacturer Multi-Contact AG has been trading as Multi-Contact Electrical Connectors AG.
