In a significant development on November 21, 2018, Molex, a prominent electronics and connectivity giant, announced a collaboration with Contrinex. This collaboration involves the integration of Contrinex's inductive and photoelectric sensors into Molex's industrial product range. Leveraging Contrinex's expertise, Molex now offers a wide selection of sensors, many of which feature powerful ASIC technology for exceptional operating distances and extended sensor lifespan. These sensors, designed for diverse environments, boast IP67, IP68, and IP69K ratings, as well as Ecolab compliance. The inductive range includes robust devices housed in one-piece stainless steel with additional resistance to saltwater and weld-field immunity. The photoelectric range comprises transparent object sensors with patented UV technology, alongside color and contrast sensors. For applications with limited space, Molex provides miniature, self-contained devices with diameters as small as 3 mm (inductive) or 4 mm (photoelectric). Most sensors in the portfolio also offer an optional IO-Link interface for remote sensor teaching, adjustment, and monitoring, enabling seamless integration into IoT architectures for continuous monitoring and diagnosis.
