Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq:SMTC), a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and Gennum Corporation jointly announced on Tue Mar 20, 2012 the successful completion of Semtech’s acquisition of Gennum Corporation. Semtech’s agreement to acquire Gennum was announced previously on January 23, 2012.

Gennum specialized in high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits. The company was founded in 1973 and was headquartered in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Gennum developed a wide range of products for various industries, including telecommunications, data communications, consumer electronics, and industrial applications.

One of Gennum's notable contributions to the technology industry was its expertise in signal integrity and high-speed data transmission. The company developed a range of products designed to enhance the quality and reliability of data transmission in high-speed communication systems. These products included serializers/deserializers (SerDes), equalizers, crosspoint switches, and clock and data recovery circuits.
