In April 2006, Sensata became an independent entity following its sale by Texas Instruments to Bain Capital. Subsequent acquisitions included First Technology Automotive and Special Products from Honeywell in November 2006, SMaL Camera from Cypress Semiconductor in March 2007, and Airpax Holdings, Inc. in July 2007. Sensata sold the SMaL Camera business to Melexis in 2009 and successfully completed its initial public offering in 2010. Notable past acquisitions also include Airpax, Klixon, Magnum, Qinex, and Schrader, further strengthening Sensata's position as a leading provider of sensor and control solutions.
