AEM High Reliability MIL Spec Ferrite Chip Beads

AEM's HRB Series Ferrite Chip Beads are the first and only DSCC-approved ferrite chip beads designed for space and other high-reliability applications. These beads are manufactured in AEM’s QPL-certified facility in San Diego, ensuring complete material and process traceability. All components use space-qualified materials and terminations, and are rigorously tested to AEM Drawing 487070 or DSCC Drawing 03024.

AEM, Inc. offers a unique service to up-screen high-quality, commercially available ferrite chip to meet high-reliability DSCC 03024 qualifications. This process provides a cost-effective means of producing an expanded inventory of DSCC part types for applications where failure is simply not an option. AEM combines its unique testing and processing expertise to achieve this result. First, AEM's proprietary, aerospace-qualified plating and fusion process is used to convert the pre-screened commercial-grade parts, manufactured to be RoHS-compliant, to tin-lead (Sn/Pb) terminations and homogenizes the Sn/Pb terminal finish. The converted parts are then subjected to full DSCC 03024 Group A, B and C screening and repackaged in full reel with lot screening data.

AEM’s multilayer ferrite beads provide a broad range of high-impedance performance across various high-frequency applications. They are uniquely designed to minimize high-frequency electrical noise in EMI-sensitive environments and come in a wide variety of industry-standard sizes. Each bead features a robust multilayer construction with proprietary noise-suppression materials. AEM offers both commercial and automotive-qualified versions.

As the first and only DSCC-approved ferrite chip bead for high-reliability use, AEM's HRB Series is manufactured in an AS9100 facility in San Diego, CA, providing complete material and process traceability. These components are made with qualified materials and processes and tested to DSCC Drawing 03024. Designed with mission-critical applications in mind, these Hi-Rel chips operate in harsh environments and extreme temperatures. They are free of tin whiskers, with Sn/Pb or Au terminations, and come in a variety of EIA/EIAJ chip sizes with nickel barrier terminations and solder plate finishes for reliable solder joints.
