Littelfuse Fuses

Quick Overview

Littelfuse Industrial Fuses & Links

Littelfuse manufactures the broadest and most innovative selection of fuses to serve nearly every possible application. A fuse is a device that protects electrical systems against potentially dangerous power surges and excessive temperatures. When subjected to extreme conditions, the fuse will blow or burn out. Unlike a circuit breaker, a fuse cannot be reset. It must be replaced.

Details

Every fuse must incorporate a fusible section, a component capable of melting under excessive power. This fusible part, known as the fusing element, is securely encased within the glass fuse body. Consisting of a slender metal strip, the fusing element reacts to overloads by heating up, ultimately melting and disconnecting the circuit, thus preventing further electrical flow and ensuring safety. Once a fuse blows, the fusing element irreversibly breaks, necessitating replacement with a new fuse. In automotive electrical systems, blade-type fuses, featuring two prongs that fit into a compact plug, are commonly utilized. However, bolt-down fuses and cartridge fuses have gained popularity in recent times. Automotive fuses are labeled with their amperage atop the fuse; upon opening an automotive fuse box, the amperage of each fuse is prominently displayed. Additionally, each level of amperage is associated with a distinct color for easy identification.

Fuses install into an electrical circuit to protect against overcurrent that could damage equipment, start fires, or cause electrical shock injuries. These electrical safety devices contain a metal strip or wire that melts to disconnect the circuit when exposed to a current load greater than the fuse's current rating. They react to conditions such as circuit overloads, shorts, or faults. Fuses are used in new electrical installations or as replacements for blown or faulty fuses.

Littelfuse manufactures the broadest and most-innovative selection of fuses to serve nearly every possible application. Littelfuse offers a comprehensive line of fuse blocks, fuse holders, and fuse accessories for automotive - Fuse Block Fuse Holder and Fuse Accessories. Fuses and fuseholders are extensively used in a wide variety of applications and installations, including the protection of electrical systems, appliances, automotive, electronic equipment and photovoltaic systems.

  • Littelfuse - Fuses - Axial, Radial and Thru-Hole Fuses - Industrial Power Fuses and UL Fuses
Industrial Power and UL Fuses: Littelfuse offers a variety of industrial power fuses to serve numerous applications. Littelfuse provides a innovative selection of power fuses to meet the needs of our customers. The Littelfuse POWR-PRO JTD-ID Indicator Class J fuse provides visual blown fuse indication and maximum protection in a compact package. The current-limiting design offers a patented true dual element design that is ideal for use in circuits with high inrush current. CCMR fuses gives you space-saving protection of motor circuits. These fuses are true dual-element time-delay fuses specifically engineered for motor branch circuit protection. They provide Type II protection (no-damage) to both NEMA rated and IEC type motor components. KLDR fuses are time-delay fuses specifically designed for the protection of control transformers, solenoids, and similar inductive components with high magnetizing currents. KLKR fuses are fast-acting for general-purpose branch circuit protection. Their compact size, fast acting overload response, and their highly current-limiting design make them ideal for use in non-inductive loads. Class L are quality fuses in every sense of the word. They were developed to provide a somewhat lower priced alternate to the POWR-PRO™ KLPC series fuses. KLLU series fuses meet or exceed all UL requirements for Class L fuses. Class T fuses give you the most compact fast-acting package available with 200,000 amperes interupting rating and very high current-limitation.
